One Library, Many Viewers

Your media library is personal, but that does not mean it is just for you. Families share a Netflix account. Roommates share a Plex server. Couples watch different shows but from the same collection.

Lumen supports multiple profiles out of the box, giving each viewer their own personalized experience within a single account.

How Profiles Work

When you create a Lumen account, you start with one profile. You can add more profiles for family members or anyone you share your library with.

Each profile gets:

Profiles switch instantly — tap your avatar, pick a profile, and the entire interface updates to reflect that person's activity.

Privacy Within the Household

Profiles are separate but they all access the same library. Everyone sees the full collection, but their personal activity — what they have watched, where they stopped, what they saved — is completely independent.

We keep it simple because profile management should never get in the way of watching.

Built for Every Screen

Profiles work consistently across all Lumen apps. Switch to a profile on your phone and it is already there when you open the Apple TV app. Your watchlist and progress sync across devices in real time.

Coming Soon: Granular Sharing

We are exploring features like content restrictions per profile and the ability to share specific titles with other Lumen users. These features will build on the existing profile system, so the foundation is already in place.

For now, profiles give every viewer in your household a seat in the cinema.
